WHY DID YOU INITIALLY CHOOSE ALEXANDRA FOR YOUR TAILORING NEEDS?
I had grown increasingly tired of buying off the shelf suits that never fitted me quite right and didn’t last as long as I thought they should for the money. I went out to look for a small independent tailor who was prepared to put in the time to understand my suit needs explicitly and make them for me to fit properly and dress smartly.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU USED ALEXANDRA FOR?
Alexandra will know from her records, but I think it was from around 2011 or 2012. I’ve always been pleased to know that I was one of her earliest private customers and she knows that I have stayed with her ever since, for all of my formal wear.
WHAT HAS BEEN. THE BIGGEST CHANGE/IMPACT YOU’VE NOTICED SINCE WORKING WITH ALEXANDRA?
From my perspective the clothes Alexandra has made for me over the years, and which include suits, shirts, a dinner suit and even a winter coat all actually fit me, and I feel good wearing them. From her perspective, it’s been good to see her business grow from a single presence on Saville Row to her first premises in Bishops Stortford and then Shoreditch and beyond.
WHAT DOES DRESSING WELL MEAN TO YOU?
It gives me the confidence in my appearance to know that when others meet me or see me, they recognise that effort and care has gone into how I personally present myself and hope that that reflects on which the way my company presents itself and the care that goes into its own service delivery.
WHAT’S IMPORTANT TO YOU BY WAY OF IMAGE?
This might sound like an odd thing to say but I don’t actually like buying clothes. I very very rarely go shopping for them. I’ll pretty much wear whatever my wife buys for me and tell me to, except when it comes to work and which is entirely Alexandra’s domain where she gets to tell me what to do. I’m very happy with my professional clothing image that she has created for me over the years.
WHAT DO YOU FEEL MAKES ALEXANDRA DIFFERENT?
She’s the only tailor that I’ve ever met that I’d marry in a heartbeat if I was single!
