Made To Measure Business Suits

Look Sharp and Confident In a Savile Row Made To Measure Business Suit

LOOK SHARP, CONFIDENT AND SUCCESSFUL

As a busy, professional man, you need to look sharp, confident and successful yet simply don’t have the time or inclination to figure out what does and doesn’t suit you and want expert guidance. You may have tried other tailors, yet have never quite got the perfect suit you’d been hoping for. Your made to measure business suit fitted well (or, so you thought) but it didn’t make you look and feel as stylish or confident as you’d hoped. Equally, this may be your first investment in tailoring and it’s an experience you’d like to get right. We work with busy, successful men to make sure they get it right the first time.

WHAT IS MADE TO MEASURE?

A made to measure business suit is made from an existing ‘block’ that is modified to fit you in a way that is superior to ready to wear. At Alexandra Wood our exclusive ‘block’ has been designed to make you look ‘hot’! The exact details will remain a secret, but your suit will be designed exclusively for you, with your body shape, skin tone and lifestyle in mind. Nothing makes buying a suit more painless than handing the task over to someone with experience, expertise and a passion for making you look amazing.

You can expect your suit to be fully made, as if ready to wear, but created to your specific requirements around a classic Alexandra Wood design, with extra attention to the details that really count. While a wide lapel may work on one man, it may not on another. We guide you by helping you not to be led blindly by Fashion and by designing you a suit that suits and fits only you. That’s what makes the real difference and where made to measure tailoring and you can really take centre stage.

MORE TO CHOOSE THAN NAVY

We know you’re probably accustomed to navy, but what if we told you that there’s so many shades that could make you look younger, fresher and more professional in a way that works for you and your environment?

We don’t expect you to have all of the answers. We guide you as to which fabrics, designs and styles will fit your needs (Pardon the pun)

Your made to measure suit may need to work for your working day, weddings and special occasions, so striking the perfect balance is key.

FAQ’S ABOUT MADE TO MEASURE

Made to measure tailoring is made from a pre existing block. It’s made in much the same way as ready to wear, but created to your exact measurements, use of fabric and lining and design preferences. It’s often used interchangeably with bespoke, but the two are completely different.

You may choose made to measure because you’ve spent far too much time and energy trawling around shops, where nothing ever quite fits the way you want it to, or it fits but it’s not the colour or style of fabric you want. Plus, there’s no doubt about it, the construction and quality of fabrics is far superior than anything off the peg (Ready to wear) and overall, far less time consuming.

When it comes to your suit, there’s a lot to do before you even choose a design or fabric. At your initial consultation we, your tailor will consider your body shape, profession and your lifestyle. We’ll also take into consideration how and when you’ll wear your suit. Finally your measurements will be taken. At Alexandra Wood, we take over twenty measurements, configurations and detailed notes. Perfection takes time!

A appointment lasts up to 1 hour with future fittings taking up to 30 minutes each time of which there will be a maximum of three.

We use only the finest fabrics in the world from reputable suppliers such as Holland & Sherry, Dormeuil, Heritage Weavers, Dugdale and Lori Piana.

Our suits take between 6-8 weeks to make including 1 week for making any necessary changes to your suit. We advise booking an appointment with us at least two months if your suit is required for a specific date.

Yes, absolutely. We help our clients with their entire tailored wardrobe, from suits and shirts to tailored bomber jackets and jeans.

Our payments are to be made in full at your first appointment with us and are paired with a 100% guarantee, where if for any reason it doesn’t fit perfectly, we will re-make it for you.

We accept all methods of payment including AMEX.

Absolutely. You need to wear a suit to be able to know how you feel in it. It’s one thing to stand stock still at a fitting where it fits perfectly, and another entirely when you sit down and realise that the fit is not quite as you first thought. The reality is that some men like their suit to be super close fitting with breathing being a secondary consideration, where others like a lot more space and movement.

We always advise our customers to call us if they have any problems at all and bring it back in for us to amend.

Our two piece made to measure suits start from £1,800 using the highest quality and construction.
