There are so many fantastic choices for your wedding suit. We take you through your options:
The Classic wedding suit
A simple, classic and easy choice. A tailored, two or three piece, navy or grey suit is a smart look that will always ensure you’re looking sharp on your wedding day. A three piece suit is always a great choice as you’ll naturally get hot throughout your day (Yes, even in Winter). You may want to take your jacket off, so when the guests arrive in the evening, you will still look very much the Groom with a smart waistcoat and trousers. A three piece suit will always look more like you’re dressed for an occasion, where a two piece suit can look more casual. The Vintage wedding suit
If you’re getting married in a barn or a more relaxed environment you may wish to opt for a suit that’s made from a tweed, check or mixture of fabric blends to wow your guests.
Choose from natural colours; greens to browns or even burgundy to make a real impact. You can really have some fun here and that’s where we guide you by working with you to choose a fabric and colour that will flatter you on your big day. Choose texture and a high quality fabric and you’ll be able to wear it for years to come. The more you invest in your suit and the fabric the better it looks and the longer it lasts.
Finishing touches
Complement your suit with a classic, well cut white shirt, a tie and pocket square that match with the bridesmaids and flowers if you’re wanting your day to be perfectly co-ordinated. Alternatively, to add your own personality, choose accessories that are more playful and interesting by choosing quirky patterns and mix and match your tie and pocket square. Finally, polish (literally) your outfit off with a simple, classic oxford style shoe to keep your look super smart and sleek. We tend to prefer chocolate brown with navy suits or black with either navy or charcoal for a more formal look.
The Black tie wedding suit
If you’ve chosen to have a romantic, evening wedding this is a great choice. Think Mr. 007 himself and you’ll be making your new bride swoon in your new dinner suit.
A dinner suit or black tie as is more commonly known is the most British of suit designs, created by Henry Poole. A suit of status and occasion makes it a great choice for your wedding suit. The dinner jacket can also be switched for a smoking jacket, but we will come to that. Done right, this look really can make quite the impact on arrival and wow your bride.
A waistcoat can be added which gives your suit more of a sense of occasion and if you get hot and want to take your jacket off, you’ll still look sharp.
Smoking jacket
You can choose to swap your dinner jacket to a smoking jacket, or if you really want to go for it; why not have a smoking jacket designed for your evening entrance and wow your guests. You can chose from our classic colour range, which are navy, emerald and burgundy or from a wide range of incredible colours that you won’t usually find.
Classic, black dinner suit
Choose from a classic plain dinner suit or something with a subtle texture so it catches the light and looks interesting and more personalised. With your lapel, you’ll want to choose from either a shawl or peak lapel as notch lapels aren’t generally used on dinner suits.
Midnight blue dinner suit
James Bond in Casino Royale made the midnight blue dinner suit a major trend. It can be a little softer than black and is perfect if you want a fresh, modern look. Bond chose a shawl collar but you can also choose a peak lapel for a modern edge.
Finishing touches
Complement your dinner suit with a matching, black satin bow tie. Some Grooms choose a ready tied bow and some, self-tie. The choice is yours. Other accessories include a cummerbund and of course, you must pair your suit with a well cut white dinner shirt. Finally, the most classic shoe to wear with a dinner suit is a pair of black, patent dress shoes but a classic, smart black shoe or patent loafer also works well.
