We love celebrating our customers style success stories. Here we talk about how they found us, what and how they were buying before and the changes they’ve had since.
Rennie Chivers came into our Bishops Stortford store whilst visiting a client of his locally back in 2019. We spoke for a while and he enquired about our made to measure tailoring service. He had seen us on Instagram @alexandrawoodmenswear
We fully respect that our customers like to do a lot of research before investing in their new clothes. It’s an important decision, so we also want to ensure they feel fully educated and comfortable with their decision. Rennie said: “There are a lot of tailors to choose from, but I just kept being drawn back to you.” I’m happy to say he’s delighted with everything I’ve designed for him.
Like many of our customers, Rennie had spent a lot of money on clothes from various retailers only to find that they didn’t fit, didn’t look great nor did they make him feel as good as he should. Quickly understanding that the higher the price tag didn’t always mean higher quality or more stylish.
He had it in his mind that he’d like a double breasted suit first. I said that I knew just the fabric that would look amazing on him and the results were fantastic.
Rennie was so delighted with his new suit that we felt it only right to do a little photo shoot outside the front of the shop and in his own Aston Martin Vantage.
Like many, it’s only when our customers truly understand the difference between wearing clothes that don’t work for them, to those that do, that they quickly realise what they’ve been missing all along.
The elements that are so important are the quality and style of fabric, the right colour and tone for your skin tone, the right style of clothing to flatter your body shape and the best style to allow your inner confidence to shine through.
He next ordered a blue sports jacket to wear with jeans. I designed this jacket with a super lightweight Oceania fabric from Holland & Sherry.
After Rennie bought a blue sports jacket he wanted a suit for his sons wedding, which sadly didn’t end up going ahead due to the Pandemic.
However, he’s still looks super elegant in a grey, prince of wales check suit.
