WHAT MAKES OUR MADE TO MEASURE TAILORING DIFFERENT

Looking at your skin tone, body shape and personality, we skilfully design you a made to measure suit that makes you look fresher and slimmer. All created with a fashionable edge, which will have you walking that little bit taller. Stores in Savile Row & Bishops Stortford.

The fit of a suit is crucial, along with colour, texture, style, quality, construction and detailing. No stone is left unturned when it comes to designing your suit.

A made-to-measure suit is created from our exclusive, flattering pattern which is adjusted exclusively for you, using your measurements which are then laser cut in our workshop. Made to measure tailoring offers you a superior to fit to ready to wear at the same time as allowing you to choose your own fabric, design, lining and details.

GQ Columnist Tony Parsons said in our recent Q&A on style:

''Someone at GQ once said that the biggest mistake British men make with their clothes is that they don’t fit properly – that really struck the chord of truth with me, and I could see how I had worn stuff that was too tight or baggy – or just badly made.''

YOUR SUIT. YOUR EXPERIENCE

We want you to enjoy and indulge; this is your time to treat yourself. We also understand that you will have many questions before your first consultation – everyone does.

CUT

The single most important element of your made to measure suit. When done properly, a tailored suit’s cut will balance your body by disguising any ‘irregularities’ and enhancing your attributes.

COLOUR

For a suit that flatters, all of the components must be just right. Rather than being slavishly beholden to fashion or fad, the colour of your tailored suit is one of the most important elements. We’ll guide you only to what looks good on you!

CONSTRUCT

“It’s what’s inside that counts.” The inner workings of your suit play a significant role in its longevity. We use a number of the more sophisticated elements in the construction of your made-to-measure suit.

FABRIC

The cloth should be the star of your made to measure suit (after you, of course) and it should be something to be proud of. We work with only the finest, luxury fabrics.

THE ALEXANDRA WOOD SECRET SAUCE

At Alexandra Wood our exclusive ‘block’ has been designed to make you look ‘hot’! The exact details will remain a secret, but your tailored suit will be designed exclusively for you, with your body shape, skin tone and lifestyle in mind. Nothing will make buying a made to measure suit more painless than handing the task over to someone with experience, expertise and a passion for making you look amazing.

You can expect your tailored suit to be fully made, as if ready to wear, but created to your specific requirements around a classic Alexandra Wood design, with extra attention to the details that really count.

While a wide lapel may work on one man, it may not on another. We guide you by helping you not to be led blindly by Fashion and by designing you a suit that suits and fits only you. That’s what makes the real difference and where made to measure tailoring and you can really take centre stage.

Is a made to measure suit worth it?

First thing’s first: investing in a made-to measure suit will reward you tenfold. There are, though, several factors to consider when deciding whether to pay that bit extra for a made-to-measure suit, and we know you won’t want to miss out on just how great you could look. When done correctly, your new suit will become your trusted wardrobe friend, making you look more confident, stylish, and professional.

By its very nature, a made-to-measure suit is a vehicle for subtly communicating your personal style to the world. With a perfect fit and details customised to your preferences, you have far more control of your look than if you chose a ready-to-wear suit.

How long will my first consultation take?

We like to spend an hour getting to know you and your requirements. This is where we take our crucial notes and create your personalised style, by choosing the best fabric, cut, colour and texture to make you look incredible. Your consultation is then rounded up with your measurements being taken, with your order confirmed.

How long does a made to measure suit take to make?

Depending on the options chosen and fittings required, your made-to-measure suit will be ready for your first fitting with us between 6-8 weeks inclusive of any alterations needed. For made to measure wedding suits, we like to start 3 months prior to your wedding date.

How many fittings will I need?

We will usually require customers to visit us for two to three fittings for a made-to-measure suit, and these take between 20-30 minutes each time.

How much does a made to measure suit cost?

Our two piece suits start from £1,100 and our three piece suits start from £1,400 where you will have a range of over 100 luxury fabrics to choose from. Our prices rise accordingly with the quality of the fabric you choose.
